About

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that aims to provide Information and Communication Technology training and facilities to less privileged communities. Our objective is to make less endowed communities have the same opportunities as everyone else in the areas of Math, Science and Computer Education. We engage our donors and partners in order to run various programs in support of our core objectives. Our structured computer training program introduces students to basic knowledge of computer systems and hands-on training such as typing, word processing, spreadsheets, gaming and coding. We also provide computers to each community we visit to help in continuous education. We also provide scholarships to brilliant but deprived students who have demonstrated passion for ICT and have the dreams to empower their communities.

Founder's Statement

Felix Sie

Founder, Bassofa Regenerative

I founded “Bassofa Regenerative” to bridge the gap between the fortunate and the unfortunate using Computer and ICT Literacy as catalysts for change in poverty eradication. I grew up in a very rural village in Ghana in the early 90s where there wasn’t electricity nor running water. As a young student, I practically had only daytime to learn because when it got dark everything came to a halt. I didn’t know anything about computers until high school where we got a few tabletop PCs donated to the entire school of about 800 students. I was intrigued when I got the chance once-per-week to spend 30 minutes at the computer lab to interact with a PC. I got my first personal tabletop PC very late in my college education in 2008 as Computer Engineering major.

Having access to a personal computer changed the course of my education and gave me a new interest of learning how to write software programs. This has been the greatest impact to my life because it led me into a wonderful career as a Computer Engineer, and now Software Engineer at Microsoft, arguably the largest Software Corporation in the World. I feel so fortunate for the opportunity and do believe this is my ‘calling’ to extend the same to many students in underserved communities.
